So…basically Kelly is saying “tough shit if they want a career outside of being a stay at home mom; one they get knocked up, that’s what we let girls do in this family.” I’ve tried to find a more positive spin on that, but I can’t find one.
Otherwise, though, I do appreciate how much she loves her kids. I’ve always thought that Michaella was Kelly’s favorite - probably because she naturally has the sweet, meek disposition they seek to cultivate in their women - but at least Michael is appreciated and treated as an adult instead of used and taken advantage of.
Do you think God is ever like, OMMe, I heard you the first time, all 38 of you don’t need to be praying the same Me-damn thing at the same time!
So they haul all the kids up into the cry room, and - wait, Kelly, JimBob and Michael are ALL there keeping an eye on four fussy kids? So Michelle, Jana, Jill and Gil are left watching the remaining little hellbeasts? That seems like poor planning.
I don’t think Jordyn likes this story.
Everyone looks so disapproving. It’s really rather unbecoming.
Primping for church montage. This is exciting television!
This is almost as ridiculous as describing her childrens’ “personalities” by saying what number they are in the lineup. You people actually do have pretty much everything in common, but you think the deepest aspect of your connection is that you both have a ton of children? Really??
Comments from the Bates blog about Chad and Erin’s wedding.
Cute about Callie :D And I’m impressed that they managed to pull together a wedding with 800 invites and no RSVPs. Go Skylar!
Hahahaha I’m picturing Michaella just being like “UH ARE YOU SURE YOU NEED A FLOWER GIRL?!” while thinking “don’t make me go down that aisle with everyone looking!” Erin should have expected that Callie might not make things easy - she seems like a total handful!
But that is seriously the sweetest thing ever, that most of her siblings immediately named her when asked to name a great Christian - I assume from them there’s no greater compliment. (And I like that Kelly is proud of this; you know Michelle would only have mentioned it if her kids named her or JimBob, and been annoyed if they’d said, say, Jill…)
